STREET LEGAL DIESEL CLARIFICATION
Must have belt driven alternator, allow electric water pump, power steering pump, and dual fenders that cover dually truck wheels.
Street legal trucks that pull in Hot One Ton class must have an air kill.

  1. DIESEL FUEL ONLY.

  2. ALLOW DUAL CP3 ON COMMON RAIL TRUCKS.

  3. HANGING WEIGHTS NOT ALLOWED. ALL WEIGHTS MUST BE SECURED.

  4. DOT TIRES ONLY.

  5. STOCK DRIVE TRAIN ONLY. NO DROP BOXES, REVERSERS OR AFTER MARKET TRANSFER CASES.

  6. NO RIGID SUSPENSION, STOCK SUSPENSION MAY BE BLOCKED, NO TRAVEL.

  7. MUST PULL FROM A “REESE” HITCH. HOOK POINT MUST BE NO CLOSER THAN 48 INCHES FROM CENTER LINE OF REAR AXLE, 3.75 INCH OPENING HORIZONTAL TO GROUND. THE HOOK POINT MUST BE THE FURTHEST POINT BACK ON THE TRUCK. SLED STOPS ARE EXCLUDED.

  8. 26 INCH HITCH HEIGHT. HITCH OPENING SIZE REQUIREMENTS 3 ¾ INCH FRONT TO BACK AND 3 INCH SIDE TO SIDE. Note: No loose clevis is to be used. (Revised – Dec. 2017)

  9. TRACTION/LADDER BARS ALLOWED.

  10. EXHAUST MUST EXIT STRAIGHT UP OR STRAIGHT DOWN, NO HOOD STACKS. MUST HAVE {if no muffler is used} 2 GRADE 5 OR BETTER 3/8 BOLTS ½ APART 90 DEGREES FROM EACH OTHER RECOMMENDED TO BE 12 INCHES FROM EXHAUST IMPELLER.

  11. ALL ENGINES MUST BE FROM 1 TON OR SMALLER TRUCK. ENGINE SWAPS ALLOWED BETWEEN MANUFACTURES. ENGINE MUST BE FROM ONE TON OR SMALLER TRUCK.

  12. DRIVE SHAFT LOOPS AND U-JOINT SHIELDS ARE PERMITTED.

  13. WATER INJECTION PERMITTED. NO PRESSURIZED BOTTLES. NO NITROUS, PROPANE, OR ALCOHOL ALLOWED.

  14. TRUCKS MAY HAVE AIR KILL AND FUEL DUMP.

  15. FIRE EXTINGUISHER REQUIRED!!!!!

  16. PROTEST RULE: If a truck is protested, the protest must be made to a member of the Tech Committee by a competitor in the same class either before the pull starts or before the truck in question leaves the pulling track. A protest fee of $500 must be paid by the protester, which will go to protestee if the truck is found to be legal. All points and prize money for that pull will be forfeited, protest fee returned to protester, and protestee barred from pulling at club sanctioned pulls for one year if truck found to be illegal or refusal of tear down. This must be done in one-hour time limit.

  17. TECH AND TRACK OFFICIALS DECISIONS FINAL.

  18. Helmet/seat belt is required.

  19. MUST BE LICENSED AND INSURED.

  20. NO AIR TO WATER INTERCOOLERS.

  21. CYLINDER HEAD MUST HAVE THE OEM SHELF STILL INTACT, NO INDIVIDUAL RUNNER INTAKE OR AFTERMARKET HEADS ALLOWED.

  22. TURBO CHARGER: S400, GT42, HX50 TURBO ARE THE MAXIMUM FRAME SIZE ALLOWED. T-4 EXHAUST HOUSINGS ARE THE LARGEST FOOT ALLOWED ON THE EXHAUST HOUSING, NO T-6 EXHAUST HOUSINGS ALLOWED. BUSHINGS ARE ALLOWED BUT MUST BE PRESSED INTO THE COMPRESSOR HOUSING, NO FLOATING BORE BUSHINGS ALLOWED. MWE GROOVE IS LIMITED TO .200”. TURBO COMPRESSOR HOUSING IS TO BE AT 2.5” AND WILL BE CHECKED WITH A 2.550” PLUG. FACTORY 6.4 FORD TRUCKS ARE ALLOWED TO RUN STOCK TWIN TURBOS.
