Description of Facilities

 

The West Virginia Interstate Fairground is located near I-77, in Mineral Wells,  WV.  Exit from I-77 on to Rt. 14  south.  Follow Rt. 14 south toward Elizabeth,  WV.   Travel approximately 5 miles to Butcher Bend Road.  Facility is located approximately 4.5 miles on the right.  The fairground encompasses  approximately 200 acres.

 

MULTI-PURPOSE BUILDING (COMMERCIAL BUILDING):  Structure is 60 ft x 110 ft. with heating and cooling, restrooms, and a large open area with adjustable partitioning to accommodate individual types of activities.  Tables and chairs are available as needed.  Regular entry doors are on all sides with 1 truck bay opening on the right side.

The stainless steel kitchen is equipped to specifications of the WV Health Department and can easily serve six hundred (600) people.  The serving of meals, from banquet to sandwiches, can be provided or catered as requested by client. 

 

MAIN SHELTER:  An enclosed 60 ft x 100 ft. structure with continuous windows on three sides.  Entry doors on one end, and a large stone fireplace located on one end.  Truck entry access by four bay openings on the right side of the building.

 

4-H BUILDING:  Enclosed structure is 60 ft x 80 ft. with 2 truck bay doors.  (One on each end of building).  Interior has large seating capacity where a small stage can be erected if needed.  This is suitable for multi-purpose activities.

 

OPEN SHELTER:  Covered, open sides, cement floor.  Shelter is 60 ft x 80 ft. to accommodate outdoor training classes, nature seminars, picnics, and/or dancing.

 

PIFER SHELTER:  Open, covered, small pole structure provides shelter to view the beautiful surrounding rural scenery.  Picnic tables provided.

 

BLEACHER SEATING:   Seating capacity for 800 overlooks a track area.

 

ROADWAYS:  Blacktop access roads crisscross all areas of the WVIF grounds, except back portion where mud bogs, and truck pulls can be held.

 

CAMPING:  Can accommodate seven hundred (700) self contained units.  

  

PARKING:  Space for sixty five hundred (6,500) units with additional overflow parking available.

  

 

NEW LIVESTOCK FACILITY:

 

MAIN BARN:  Barn is 176 ft. X 72 ft to with a dirt floor to accommodate livestock shows and sales.

 

HOG BARN:  Barn is 40 ft. X  80 ft with 60 hog stalls.  Metal pens, and a concrete floor provide safety and protection for swine.

 

RIDING ARENA:  Outdoor 150 ft X 250 ft arena provides optimum space for horse shows.
